The Iron Mountain Iron Mine is OPEN seasonally each year from Memorial Day Weekend until October 11th

Gift Shop Hours

9:00am - 5:00pm (Central Time)

Please note: The last tour departs at 4:10pm. If there is no last tour, the gift shop will close.

Memorial Day Weekend

May 23rd to May 25th - tours run every 35 minutes starting at 9:20am

​

Spring Schedule

May 26th to June 19th - tours run every hour starting at 9:10am 

​

Summer Schedule

June 20th to September 7th - tours run every 35 minutes starting at 9:20am 

​

Fall Schedule

September 8th to October 12th - tours run Friday, Saturday, Sunday starting at 9:10am

Tour Information

Guided tours last approximately 45 minutes

The last tour of the day departs at 4:10pm (Central Time)

It is 43° in the mine

Jacket or sweater, pants & closed toed shoes are recommended

Not handicapped accessible 

No food or drinks

No large bags, large purses, diaper bags, backpacks, etc. 

Please turn phones to silent (photos are allowed)

Listen to tour guide and keep up to stay on schedule

1/4 mile train ride & 1/2 mile walking
